Grizzlies Celebrate Seniors as they Continue Series Against Mavericks

Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State baseball team played their second and third games of their four game series versus Colorado Mesa University on Friday. Mesa won the first game 36-6 and the second game 24-7. These games bring the Grizzlies to 23-26 on the season and 18-13 in  RMAC play. 

Colorado Mesa 36, Adams State 6

Mesa started the game off hot with 6 runs in the first inning and then scored 14 more in the second inning. Mesa would then continue to score at least a run in every inning following and ended the game with 8 runs in the seventh inning. The Grizzlies scored 1 run in the first and third inning and 4 runs in the fifth, but that was not enough and the game ended in favor of Colorado Mesa 36-6. 

The Grizzlies had 6 runs on 11 hits from 30 at bats compared to Mesa's 36 runs on 30 hits and 50 at bats. 

Colorado Mesa 24, Adams State 7

Mesa would start game two similar to how they started game one, scoring 9 runs in the first inning and 11 more over the two following innings. The Grizzlies wouldn't score until the fifth inning, scoring 2 runs. In the last two innings for the Grizzlies would score 5 more runs, but that was not enough and the game ended 24-7 in favor of Mesa after seven innings. 

The Grizzlies had 7 runs on 12 hits from 32 at bats compared to Mesa's 24 runs on 24 hits and 46 at bats.

The Grizzlies will be back in action Saturday starting at 12:00 for their final game of the series against Colorado Mesa in Alamosa, Colo.
