Alamosa, Colo. – The match between Adams State and West Texas A&M was a tightly contested affair, but the outcome was effectively determined in the opening minutes. Adams State fell 1-0 to West Texas A&M, with the sole goal of the game scored just four minutes into play. Avery Putnam was the hero for WT, finding the back of the net with an assist from Madison Stokes. This early goal proved to be the game-winner.

Both teams had their share of offensive opportunities throughout the match. Adams State managed to take 10 shots, while West Texas A&M recorded 8. However, WT Goalkeeper Reagan Heelan made a crucial save on a shot by Denali Levin to preserve the clean sheet.

On the defensive side, Adams State faced some challenges, including disciplinary issues. The team received two yellow cards during the game, issued to Annabell Haugen and Colette Tena. 

Adams State heads on the road next week for a Wednesday match against Oklahoma Panhandle State University at 1 p.m., before hosting senior day next Saturday against Sul Ross State.
