Salt Lake City, Utah – Adams State faced a challenging outing, falling 2-0 against Westminster on Friday evening. Despite their best efforts, the Grizzlies were unable to find the back of the net.
The first half saw Adams State's Karlee Caballero register a shot on goal at the 5:36 mark, but it was saved by Westminster goalkeeper Brooklyn Northcutt. Westminster took the lead at the 12:20 mark and maintained their advantage despite Adams State responding with a few promising attempts, including a shot on goal from Brissa Toribio, which was again denied by Northcutt.
In the second half, the Grizzlies battled to regain momentum but found themselves defending for much of the period. Westminster doubled their lead in the 74th minute, effectively sealing the match. Despite some strong defensive moments and a save by goalkeeper Ashlyn Bartley, Adams State was unable to overcome the deficit.
Adams State finished the match with four shots, two on target, while Westminster held the edge in possession and shots, particularly in the second half. With this result, Adams State moves to 2-3-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play as they look ahead to Colorado Mesa, who they will face on the road Sunday at 12 p.m.
