Adams State Falls in Close Contest Against Colorado Mesa, 1-0

Grand Junction, Colo. – In a closely contested match at Community Hospital Unity Field in Grand Junction, Adams State fell 1-0 to Colorado Mesa on Sunday afternoon.

The decisive moment of the game came early, as Colorado Mesa's Adessa Correa scored the only goal of the game at the 1:55 mark, assisted by Sauvelyne Randel. Despite several opportunities, Adams State couldn't capitalize, while goalkeeper Ashlyn Bartleyput on a valiant effort with six saves to keep the Grizzlies in the game.

The second half saw a more determined Adams State team, pushing forward in search of an equalizer. Colette Tena and Brissa Toribio, alongside their teammates, worked hard to create opportunities, but Colorado Mesa's defense remained resolute. The Grizzlies were denied any corner kicks throughout the match, while their opponents managed eight, further tilting the game in Mesa's favor.

With the loss, Adams State drops to a record of 2-4-1 (0-2-0 in conference play), but their fighting spirit and defensive tenacity will give them hope moving forward. They'll aim to regroup and find their offensive groove as they continue their conference schedule at home on Friday, taking on Western Colorado University for their Mental Health Awareness game.
