Grizzlies Fall 2–0 at Fort Lewis to Close Road Weekend

Durango, Colo. — The Adams State women's soccer team came up short on the road Sunday afternoon, falling 2–0 to Fort Lewis at Dirks Field.

The Skyhawks struck early when Anna Tucker found the back of the net in the ninth minute, assisted by Renee Junna. Fort Lewis added insurance early in the second half as Jenna Salazar converted in the 50th minute off a pass from Danielle Gonzales.

Adams State managed eight shots in the contest, three of which were on goal. Mia Del Muro led the Grizzlies with two attempts, while Natalia Toledo and Denali Levin each registered one shot on target.

Goalkeeper Ashlyn Bartley was solid in net, recording five saves against 19 total shots faced.

With the result, Adams State moved to 6–3–2 overall and 2–2–1 in RMAC play, while Fort Lewis improved to 6–4–1 (3–2–0 RMAC).

The Grizzlies return home to face off against Westminster this week. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday.
