DURANGO, Colo. – Adams State women's basketball turned in a dominant road performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Fort Lewis 78–50 at Whalen Gymnasium to remain unbeaten in RMAC play.
The Grizzlies set the tone immediately, holding Fort Lewis to just four points in the opening quarter. Adams State capitalized on the defensive pressure, building a 23-4 lead after one and never looking back.
Adams State led 42–17 at halftime behind a balanced offensive attack and relentless defense that produced 15 steals and 24 points off turnovers for the game.
Junior guard
Kiiyani Anitielu led all scorers with 23 points, adding four steals and three assists while going 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.
Elaina Watson followed with 18 points, five steals and four assists, continuing her strong two-way play for the Grizzlies.
In the frontcourt,
Taejhuan Hill posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Adams State outscored Fort Lewis 34–26 in the paint and added 18 fast-break points.
Fort Lewis made a push in the third quarter, scoring 22 points, but Adams State responded with a 26-point fourth quarter to close the game and secure the road win.
With the victory, Adams State improves to 9–3 overall and 4–0 in RMAC play, while Fort Lewis falls to 7–3 (2–2 RMAC).
The Grizzlies will travel to Texas next week to finish out non-conference play against University of Texas at Tyler and Maryville University.
