Colorado Springs, Colo. – Adams State University proudly landed three Grizzlies on the 2024-25 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) First Team All-Conference, as announced Thursday afternoon. Men's wrestlers Isaiah Gamez, Angel Flores, and Aaden Valdez were each recognized among the conference's elite 10-member First Team.
Headlining the honors, Isaiah Gamez was named RMAC Wrestler of the Year. The junior from Gypsum, Colorado, currently ranked No. 5 nationally at 125 pounds, boasts an impressive 16-2 record, including seven victories over top-20 opponents. A First Team All-RMAC selection last season as well, Gamez capped his 2024 campaign with a fourth-place finish at the National Championships.
Joining the First Team for the first time, Angel Flores climbed from last year's Second Team recognition to establish himself as one of the conference's best. The No. 5 wrestler in the nation at 141 pounds, Flores carries an 8-4 record into the postseason after a strong regular season. He also finished fourth at the 2024 National Championships, alongside teammate Gamez.
Aaden Valdez, the No. 4-ranked wrestler at 157 pounds, earned his second career First Team All-RMAC honor. The standout Grizzly boasts an impressive 13-1 record this season, following a seventh-place finish at the 2024 National Championships.
With the postseason on the horizon, the trio looks to build on their conference success and make another statement on the national stage.
