Lubbock, TX — The Grizzlies struggled to get going offensively early which allowed the Lubbock Christian offense to take over and take the win early Thursday afternoon with a score of 16-0 in five innings. The game was held at Maner Park, Lubbock Christian's home field. The tough loss drops the Adams State Softball team to 1-5 on the season.
The Adams State offense was only able to muster three total baserunners on the game. This included two hits by
Grace Hendrickson who finished the game with Adams State's only hits, and a walk by
Caylie Eiguren. Hendrickson finished the day 2-2 on the day, bumping her average on the season to .429. Hendrickson has been a bright spot for the Grizzly offense early this season even with the Adams State offense struggling through their first six games of the year.
On the other hand, the Lubbock Christian offense thrived today, collecting 17 hits and 22 baserunners. This was Lubbock's fifth win of the season, giving them a solid start and putting them at 5-1.

Aubree Davis got the start in the circle going 2+ innings today allowing 10 runs(9 earned), 9 hits, and walking 4.
Celie Page finished the game throwing the final 2 innings, allowing 6 runs(5 earned), 8 hits, walking 1, and collecting 1 strikeout. Both Davis and Page were able to collect one scoreless inning against the Lubbock Christian offense but it wasn't enough as the Grizzly offense could never get rolling against Ashlinn Hamilton the starter for Lubbock Christian. The win brought Hamilton to a 2-0 record on the season giving her a solid start to the year, and the loss for the Grizzlies dropped
Aubree Davis to a 1-2 record on the season.
The Grizzlies will look to bounce back tomorrow as they gear up for a Friday doubleheader against Chadron State and Sul Ross State. Each game will be a great opportunity for the Grizzlies to get the season rolling as Chadron State is a fellow RMAC team and Sul Ross the Grizzlies have already beaten earlier in the season. Both games will be again hosted at Maner Park as Lubbock Christian hosts the early season tournament. The game against Chadron State will be played at 10:00 AM MST, and the game against Sul Ross State will be played at 1:00 PM MST.
