Adams State Falls Short in Final Two Games Against CSU Pueblo, Drops Series 3-1

Pueblo, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies wrapped up their series against CSU Pueblo on Saturday, dropping both games of the doubleheader as the ThunderWolves secured a 3-1 series victory.

Game 1: CSU Pueblo 11, Adams State 2 (5 Innings)

In the first game of the day, Adams State (4-21, 2-13 RMAC) struggled offensively, managing just two hits in a shortened five-inning contest as CSU Pueblo (10-12, 9-6 RMAC) rolled to an 11-2 win. The Grizzlies' only runs came in the second inning when Caylie Eiguren and Grace Hendrickson each launched solo home runs.

However, the ThunderWolves responded in a big way, scoring three runs in the second before breaking the game open with a seven-run third inning. Brooklyn Burgess (0-5) took the loss, allowing four earned runs over three innings, while the Grizzlies' defense committed two costly errors.

Game 2: CSU Pueblo 9, Adams State 1

In the series finale, Adams State showed resilience but ultimately fell 9-1. The Grizzlies put together a nine-hit effort but struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Their lone run came in the third inning off an RBI single from Emily Sauvageau.

On the mound, Celie Page (0-7) pitched five innings, surrendering seven earned runs on 13 hits. CSU Pueblo's offense remained red-hot, collecting two home runs and two doubles while drawing seven walks.

With the series loss, Adams State moves to 4-22 overall and 2-14 in conference play. They will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they return to Colorado Springs, Wednesday to take on Fort Hays State in a neutral site game.
