Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State women's soccer capped its Senior Day in style on Sunday, shutting out Oklahoma Panhandle State 3-0 at the ASU Soccer Field. The victory lifts the Grizzlies to 4-1-1 on the season.
The Grizzlies honored their six seniors before kickoff, then wasted no time making the day memorable. Fatso Williams put Adams State on the board in the 12th minute, finishing a pass from Colette Tena for her team-leading fourth goal of the year.
Adams State continued to press after halftime, outshooting the Aggies 15-0 in the second frame. Ashlyn De Lemos doubled the lead in the 72nd minute off an assist from Mia Del Muro and Keira Robertson, and Grace Abbott closed the scoring in the 79th minute with her fourth goal of the season, set up by Kadyn Hydar.
Defensively, the Grizzlies were impenetrable. The backline limited OPSU to just two total shots and none on target, while goalkeeper Ashlyn Bartley secured a clean sheet without being forced into a save.
Adams State finished with a 25-2 edge in shots, forcing Aggie keeper Emma Shockley into eight saves.
The Grizzlies now turn their attention to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, beginning on Friday at home against Regis University.
