DENVER, Colorado — The Adams State Volleyball team picked up another important RMAC victory Saturday afternoon, sweeping Regis 3-0 (31-29, 25-18, 28-26) at the Regis Fieldhouse. With the win, the Grizzlies improve to 10-8(4-2 RMAC).
Adams State opened the match with a hard-fought first set that was truly back and forth the entire set, eventually finishing in a 31-29 victory for the Grizzlies. Adams State was able to battle through eight ties and four lead changes in the opening frame before closing out the set.
The Grizzlies carried that momentum into the second set, taking control early and earning a 25-18 victory to move within one set of completing the sweep. Adams State's offense continued to apply pressure while the defense limited Regis to just 18 points. In the second set the Grizzly offense was able to secure 9 kills helping them take control.
The third set once again came down to the wire. Adams State and Regis battled through eight ties and two lead changes before the Grizzlies ultimately finished off the sweep with a 28-26 victory. This final set was extremely close as both offenses secured 13 kills and both finished below a 0.100 hitting percentage with the Grizzlies finishing at 0.068 and the Rangers finishing at 0.089. With such a close set, the Grizzlies ability to close out this third and final set really shows the true grit of this Grizzly team.
Leading the way for the Grizzlies was Isa Folau who finished with 10 kills, two block assists, and five digs. Rowan Tribelhorn followed the lead of Folau, adding seven kills and six block assists. Aubrey Rothermich, Lizzie Macintosh, and Isabella Hidalgo all had solid nights, as Rothermich finished with six kills, while Macintosh and Hidalgo each finished with five kills.
Ellie Miller orchestrated the Adams State offense with 16 assists, while Isabella DeLaRosa added 13 assists. Miller also recorded two service aces, while DeLaRosa finished with three.
Defensively, Ashlyn Jones led the Grizzlies with 19 digs, followed by MacIntosh with 15. Miller added six digs, while DeLaRosa contributed seven.
As a team, Adams State finished with 37 kills, 32 assists, eight service aces, 22 block assists, 2 solo blocks, and 64 digs. The Grizzlies also held Regis to a .180 team hitting percentage.

Up next for the Grizzlies, Adams State will return home for another RMAC matchup against Black Hills State on Friday, October 9. The match is set for 7 p.m. MST inside Plachy Hall and will serve as the SLV Health Game.
