Salt Lake City – Adams State fell to Westminster University, 106-87, Saturday at Behnken Field House.
The Grizzlies stayed within striking distance in the first half, trailing by just two points, 43-41, at the break. Westminster pulled away in the second half, outscoring Adams State by nearly 20 points to secure the victory.
Luke Williams and Jarmell Johnson led the Grizzlies with 17 points apiece, combining for three steals. Dillan Baker added 15 points, and Jaylen Alexander chipped in 14, with the duo collecting nine rebounds between them.
As a team, the Grizzlies shot nearly 50 percent from the field but were limited to 30.4 percent from 3-point range and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line. Adams State capitalized on turnovers with 28 points but could not overcome the second-half surge.
Adams State returns home Thursday for the first of its final two home games of the season, hosting Black Hills State at 7:30 p.m.
