Colorado Springs, Colo. — Adams State men's wrestling swept all three RMAC major awards and placed six wrestlers on the All-RMAC First and Second Teams, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
In one of its best dual seasons in recent history, Adams State went 5-1 in conference competition and claimed Wrestler of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year honors, highlighting the program's dominance throughout the RMAC schedule.
Isaiah Gamez, the No. 2-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds, was named RMAC Wrestler of the Year after finishing the season 18-1 with 11 wins by fall. He ranks 10th nationally in falls this season and added four major decisions, giving him bonus-point victories in 15 of his 18 wins.
Gamez defeated the nation's No. 4-ranked wrestler earlier this season to help secure the Grizzlies' dual win over Chadron State and placed third at the Midwest Classic. He earned All-RMAC First Team honors at 125 pounds.
Malachi Rider claimed RMAC Freshman of the Year after finishing the regular season 19-5. The redshirt freshman captured first place at the Younes Hospitality Open at 165 pounds and went a perfect 5-0 in RMAC duals. Rider recorded 12 bonus-point victories throughout the season and earned Second Team All-RMAC recognition at 165 pounds.
Jason Ramstetter was named RMAC Coach of the Year after leading Adams State to a 9-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference duals. The Grizzlies secured six victories by 20 or more points and four wins by 30 or more, showcasing their dominance throughout the year. Ramstetter's leadership helped propel Adams State to No. 16 in the NCAA Division II national rankings and a share of the 2025-26 RMAC regular-season title.
The Grizzlies' success extended throughout the lineup. No. 3-ranked Aaden Valdez earned All-RMAC First Team honors at 157 pounds, while Kieran Thompson (141), Angel Flores (149), Rider (165) and Levi Deaguero (174) were named to the All-RMAC Second Team.
The postseason honors reflect the balance, depth and consistency that defined one of the program's strongest seasons in recent memory as Adams State now turns its focus to the postseason.
