Nampa, Idaho – Adams State used a dominant third quarter and a balanced offensive attack to secure an 11–9 road win over Northwest Nazarene on Thursday night.
The win marked a significant milestone for the Grizzlies (2-5, 2-2), as it is the program's first back-to-back victories since 2019.
After conceding the opening goal, Adams State responded quickly with three first-quarter scores from Tre Williams, Cohen Taylor, and Jamal Wilson to take early control. The Grizzlies carried that momentum into halftime with a 5–3 lead, highlighted by a late man-up goal from Malik Maxwell.
The game broke open in the third quarter. Adams State poured in five goals in a decisive stretch, including two more from Taylor and additional scores from Danny Joy, Devon Schmidt, and Jacob Parsons. That surge built a commanding 10–5 advantage and ultimately proved to be the difference.

Cohen Taylor led the way offensively with four goals, including the game-winner, while Malik Maxwell turned in a standout all-around performance with one goal and three assists. Danny Joy added two goals, and Cole Murri chipped in two assists.
In goal, Ryan Berger anchored the defense with 16 saves, helping Adams State weather 32 shots from the Nighthawks.
Adams State finished with 32 shots and capitalized on key opportunities, converting twice on eight man-up chances. The Grizzlies also controlled possession in key moments, collecting 42 ground balls in the win.
With the victory, Adams State evens its conference record heading into the next stretch of RMAC play, beginning with Westminster University on Saturday.
