Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State dropped both games of Saturday's RMAC doubleheader against Colorado Mines, falling 6-0 in game one and 20-2 in game two.
In the opener, the Grizzlies kept things close early but struggled to break through offensively. Adams State was limited to just three hits while leaving eight runners on base in the shutout loss.
Colorado Mines pulled away in the sixth inning, scoring four runs to create separation before adding another in the seventh.
Caylie Eiguren, Emily Sauvageau, and Devree Godinez each recorded a hit for Adams State, while Colorado Mines pitcher Rylee Church tossed a complete-game shutout.
Game two saw the Orediggers' offense take control early. Colorado Mines scored two runs in the first before erupting for seven in the second and nine in the third inning to put the game out of reach.
Adams State plated two runs in the contest but was unable to keep pace, as Colorado Mines finished with 20 runs on 21 hits in the run-rule victory.
The Grizzlies totaled four hits in game two and drew seven walks but left multiple scoring opportunities on base.
Colorado Mines was led by Kendall Aragon, who went 4-for-4 with four RBI and two triples, highlighting a strong overall offensive performance from the Orediggers.
Adams State will look to bounce back as they continue series play Sunday at 11 a.m.
