COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Adams State cross country swept the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Runner of the Week honors as Mary Ngige was named the RMAC Women's Runner of the Week and Thibault Tauziede earned RMAC Men's Runner of the Week honors.
The pair opened the 2026 season by capturing the individual titles at the 33rd annual Joe I. Vigil Open in Alamosa, helping the Grizzlies control the front of both races.
Ngige led a dominant performance by the Adams State women, winning the 5K individual title in 17:12.8. Her victory started a sweep of the top seven finishing positions for the Grizzlies, with Adams State ultimately placing nine runners among the top 10. Claragh Keane followed Ngige in second at 17:52.5, while Aspen Fulbright completed the podium sweep in third at 17:57.6.
On the men's side, Tauziede captured the 8K individual title with a time of 23:57.0. His performance led an Adams State group that placed eight runners among the top 11 finishers. Jessiel Paez joined Tauziede near the front of the field with a third-place finish in 24:07.2.
The weekly honor adds to Tauziede's growing list of accolades after he was named the 2026 RMAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year last spring.
