STILLWATER, Okla. — September 26, 2026 — Adams State University cross country competed Saturday at the 88th Annual Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State University at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course. The Grizzlies faced a strong collegiate field in the women's 6K and men's 8K.
Women's 6K
The Adams State women finished sixth as a team with 173 points. BYU won the team competition with 32 points, followed by Oklahoma State with 64 and New Mexico with 70.
Mary Ngige led Adams State in the individual results, finishing 28th in 21:00.2.
Emily Jobes followed in 29th at 21:02.7, while
Keira Damron placed 38th in 21:28.0.
Aspen Fulbright finished 49th in 21:42.1. The Grizzlies also had
Claragh Keane finish 69th in 22:20.5 and
Amal Kachouri place 80th in 22:35.6. Oklahoma State's Billah Jepkirui won the women's 6K in 19:24.4, setting a meet and course record.
Men's 8K
The Adams State men earned a third-place team finish with 112 points, behind New Mexico with 28 points and Oklahoma State with 44.
Thibault Tauziede led the Grizzlies in the individual results, finishing 13th overall in 23:58.8.
Jack Gumm placed 19th in 24:22.3, followed by
Sfiso Makolomakwa in 25th at 24:31.5.
Chakib Cherkaoui Rhazouani finished 29th in 24:40.0, while
Soufyane Laaziz placed 33rd in 24:45.7. New Mexico's Pasanjo Kitonga captured the men's 8K individual title in 23:24.4.
Looking Ahead
The Cowboy Jamboree gave Adams State another opportunity to compete against a strong NCAA field early in the 2026 cross country season. The Grizzlies are scheduled to return to competition at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas, on October 16.
