ALAMOSA, Colorado — The Adams State Volleyball team delivered a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, sweeping Fort Lewis 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-16) at Plachy Hall. With the victory, the Grizzlies improve to 8-8 overall and 2-2 in RMAC play.
Adams State set the tone immediately in tonight's opening set, hitting an impressive .406 as a team with 16 kills on 32 attacks. The Grizzlies used a balanced offensive attack to take the first set 25-20.
The Grizzlies carried that momentum into the second set, holding Fort Lewis to a .000 hitting percentage while forcing the Skyhawks into eight total errors. Adams State continued to execute offensively, recording 14 kills while committing just four attack errors to pull away for a convincing 25-14 victory and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Adams State closed out the sweep in the third set, recording 15 kills and hitting .313. The Grizzlies never allowed Fort Lewis to find a rhythm offensively, securing the 25-16 set victory and completing the 3-0 sweep.
Leading the way offensively for Adams State was Rowan Tribelhorn, who turned in another outstanding performance with 11 kills on 16 attacks while hitting an incredible .688. Tribelhorn also added five block assists and 1 dig to collect a team-high 13.5 points.
Following the lead of Tribelhorn tonight was Katie Bauer who also had a strong afternoon, recording nine kills on 16 attacks while hitting .500, along with four block assists, two digs, and an ace for 12 total points. Sienna Markovich also added eight kills, four block assists, an ace and 14 digs, while Isa Folau contributed eight kills and 11 digs.
Behind the offensive attack, the Grizzlies received a strong defensive effort. Ashlyn Jones led all players with 27 digs, while Markovich added 14 and Isabella DeLaRosa recorded 12 digs. DeLaRosa also helped orchestrate the offense with a match-high 24 assists, while Ellie Miller finished with 10 assists finishing second on the Grizzlies.
As a team, Adams State finished the match with 45 kills, 39 assists and 75 digs, while holding Fort Lewis to just 26 kills and a .036 hitting percentage. The Grizzlies also controlled the net with 18 total block assists, putting together a complete team performance in front of the home crowd and showcasing the talent and competitiveness of Grizzly Volleyball.

Next up for the Grizzlies is an RMAC road matchup against Chadron State in Chadron, Nebraska. Adams State will take on the Eagles next Friday, October 2, at 6 p.m. MST.
