David Forster enters his first season in 2018-19 as a volunteer assistant coach for the Adams State Women's Basketball program.
Forster brings over 40 years of coaching experience at four San Luis Valley High Schools (Sanford, Sangre de Cristo, Sierra Grande, and Centauri), with 28 of those years as a head coach for girl’s basketball.
He started his basketball coaching career as assistant coach for Sangre de Cristo Girls basketball. He help guide the team to a State Championship in 1985 and a 68-game win streak.
Forster also served as the Head Coach for Sierra Grande Girls basketball and Centauri Girls Basketball. He led Sierra Grande to a State Runner-up in 1992 and Centauri to a State Championship in 2006. He was named the Colorado State 3A Coach of the Year in 2006.
At the high school level, Forster has a record of 43-12 with boys basketball and 457-183 record with girls basketball. He also coached three different times for the Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports and Colorado High School Coaches Association All State Games, most recently in the summer of 2018 at Adams State for the CHSCA game.
Forster graduated from Adams State in 1981. He is married to Becky Forster and they have four children in Brandon, Kimberly, Kyle, Brett, and five grandchildren in Isabela, Xander, Chauncey, Lucas, Dakston.
