Jaime Green

  • Title
    Head Women's Basketball Coach
Jaime Green enters her third season at the helm of the Adams State Women's basketball program for the 2020-21 campaign.

Last season, Green helped propel the Grizzlies to a 4-24 record. She helped the Grizzlies earn wins over New Mexico Highlands, Chadron State, Regis and Fort Lewis. During the season Zakiya Beckles was named All-RMAC Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 season.

In her first season (2018-19), she brought Division II championship experience to a young Adams State program in the midst of a rebuild. She took over the Grizzlies with a winning mindset and goals for the future, bringing in a talented young recruiting class that looks to be on the way up moving forward.

In 2010 she took over as the head coach for Division II Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. In just three years she took the school to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in any sport in school history. Her team was the Heartland Conference Champions, the first in the Heartland Conference for Newman University. She also recruited and coached the first Newcomer of the Year for the conference, and produced the most wins in nearly a decade with 19 wins in a season for Newman. She finished her time with a perfect graduation rate for her players.

Before her time at Newman she was the head coach for Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas for three years. While at Labette she was named the Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year and the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. She led the team to the No.3-ranking in the nation in just three season, earning herself the Region XI Coach of the Year honor. She had consecutive seasons of 20 or more wins, which was made possible by recruiting and coaching the school's first Junior College All-American. In her three season she made it to the conference championship all three times, winning it once. She had five Academic All-Americans and a pair of conference Player of the Year selections in her time.

Following her time at Newman she returned to her alma mater to coach under her mentor for a season. She was the main recruiting coordinator for Missouri Southern, as well as assisting for legendary coach Maryann Mitts.

After her time at Missouri Southern, Green returned home to Arkansas where she coached and worked for Southwest Junior High where she won a conference title. She spent two years as the coach at Har-Ber High School while also working as the assistant athletic director.

As a player Green played for Northeastern State University before transferring to Missouri Southern. She was named to the MIAA All-Academic Team as a student. Her talents in high school led to her being inducted into the Springdale Athletics Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
