Kelsey Horton enters her first season at Adams State University as the Interim Head Coach for the 2015-2016 season. After a year as Graduate Assistant, Horton obtained her Masters in Exercise Science from Adams State. She will be taking the helm and leading the Grizzly women's lacrosse program into it's sixth year.
Horton came to the Grizzlies after playing for the University of Maryland lacrosse team. While at Maryland, Kelsey was a four-year letter winner at the University of Maryland and a part of the program to see 3 ACC Championships, 3 NCAA Final Fours and a National Championship in 2014.Â
Prior to Maryland, Horton played for St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes’ High School where she had the most points in school history and holds the record for assistants and points in a season.
In 2009 and 2010 she was named with First Team All-American honors. Other awards include: Heather Leigh Albert Finalist 2008 and 2009, First Team All-Met in 2010 and second team in 2009, Alexandria S[sportsman of the Year, Northern Virginia All-Area All Stars Player of the Year, All-Tewaaraton High School Team as a Senior, VA Independent School Girls Lacrosse All-State First Team in 2010.Â
Born October 26, 1991, Horton is the daughter of Fred and Collette Horton and has one sister, Danielle.
