As a Freshman (2010): Played all 26 matches and all but one set for a total of 99 sets over the course of the season… had 210 kills and 511 total attacks in the 2010 season, with a 17 kill effort at Ft. Lewis as a season high… had 10 or more kills 10 times… She also contributed 110 digs, 67 blocks, and 13 assists.

Prep: Earned South Central League MVP honors as a senior with the Tiffany Shrewsbury coached Pueblo South HS Colts in 2009… Was a 3-time First Team All-SCL pick… Had earned second team honors as a freshman in 2006… Played middle hitter and setter positions… Played in the 4A Colorado Coaches of Girls’ Sports All-State game after her senior year… Also played tennis… Qualified for state three times.

Club: Played for the Colorado Juniors based in Monument, Colo… Was named to the Junior Olympic All-Tournament Team (National Division) during her 16’s year.

Academics: Is majoring in psychology… Had a 3.9 high school GPA… Was an academic letterwinner throughout her career.

Off the Court: Born 1/1/92… Daughter of Gene & Christine Tapia… Sister Lindsay, 20, plays volleyball for RMAC rival Colorado State-Pueblo… Gene played football at the University of Southern Colorado from 1980-82… Her uncle Jim ran track at USC from 1985-87… Her uncle Jay played football at Northern Colorado from 1984-88… Enjoys reading, playing cards, swimming, hanging out with friends and tennis… Favorite movie is Ten Things I Hate About You… Favorite foods are macaroni and cheese… Favorite professional sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
