As a Freshman (2010): Redshirt season.

Prep: 4-time all-conference outside hitter for the Geneva Morford coached Roosevelt HS Rough Riders… Was the team captain throughout her prep career… Tallied 303 kills to go along with 337 digs, 16 aces and 64 blocks as a senior in 2009… Earned Second Team Denver Post All-Colorado team honors… Was also selected to the Colorado Coaches Girls All-State team… Also recognized by the Loveland Reporter Herald as the Player of the Year and by the Greeley Tribune as the Leader of the top Class 4A Weld County volleyball team… Helped the team to a 27-3 record as a senior… The team won district, league and regional titles before bowing out of the 4A state tournament in the semifinals to eventual champion Cheyenne Mountain… The team also won those titles while advancing to the semifinals of state in 2008… Was a Second Team Rocky Mountain News All-State pick that year… Also earned First Team Reporter Herald All-Area honors in 2007 and 2008… The team finished second in the district and regionals before making the final four at state at the 3A level in 2007… Also played basketball and was an all-conference pick for four straight years… Also earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior in 2010.

Club: Played for coach Jeff Oldham and Brighton-based Club One.

Academics: Is undecided upon an exact major but wants to have a career in elementary education… Was a 2007, 2008 and 2009 Academic All-State pick… Finished high school with a 3.8 GPA… Earned an academic letter.

Off the Court: Born 3/8/91… Daughter of Jennifer Briggs and Larry Velasquez… Step-father is Travis Rieder… Sister Morgan and Brother Darian are 23 and 17, respectively… Enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, camping and being outside…. Favorite movie is Top Gun… Favorite foods are smothered burritos… Favorite professional sports team is the Denver Nuggets.
