Max Ruybal joined Adams State University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Academic Affairs in July 2015. With his position Ruybal monitors the academic progress of more than 700 student-athletes. His primary duties include providing course advisement, academic support, and career and personal guidance.
“I am excited for this new chapter in my life and hope to make an impact with helping out student-athletes.” Ruybal said at the time of his hire.
He will also education student-athletes on rules of eligibility and personal responsibility, serve as a mentor to new student-athletes, and schedule regular appointments and assist with developing daily and weekly academic objectives.
The San Luis Valley native made the swift transition into Athletics after spending four years as an Admissions Counselor at Adams State. As an Admissions Counselor, Ruybal worked directly with incoming freshman and prospective students. He served as the main contact for the state of New Mexico for prospective students.
Ruybal is a 2011 graduate of ASU and holds a B.S. degree in Business Management. He currently resides in Alamosa with his wife and three children. In his free time he enjoys hunting and fishing.
