GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Adams State University women's volleyball team had their three game winning streak snapped on Saturday evening in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) game against the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks by a match score of 3-0. With the loss today, Adams State's record now falls to 11-9, 6-6 in RMAC play. Mesa State improves to 17-3, 11-1 in RMAC contests with the win.

The Mavericks had full control of the game from the start, leading the Grizzlies at one point in the first set by 13 points. The Grizzlies could not find a defensive answer for Colorado Mesa hitter Casey Ball who led the Mavericks with 13 kills and two aces. Adams State lost the game via match scores of 13-25, 22-25, 17-25.

Leah Nelson and
Alex Parker led the Grizzlies with eight kills each, while Parker also led the Grizzlies with blocks with four. Freshmen
Katelyn Schwartz had 25 assists with three blocks while Savanah Smith led all players with 10 digs.

With a handful of games left in RMAC play, head coach Lindy Mortenson and her crew will return to Alamosa for three matches next week. Action begins on Tuesday, Oct. 21 as ASU hosts the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Hardrockers from Plachy Hall. Â
