ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 21, 2014) -- The Adams State University Grizzlies volleyball team won their Tuesday night matchup against the visiting South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Hardrockers by a match score of 3-0. With the win, Adams State improves their overall record to 12-9 while the Hardrockers drop to 9-8.

The Grizzlies completely dominated the Hardrockers in every aspect of the game, flipping the script from their previous outing against Colorado Mesa University where they lost in three sets. Head coach Lindy Mortenson and her crew came out prepared and dominated the court due to the standout performance from sophomore
Alex Parker. Adams State won via match scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-17.

Parker, who led the Grizzlies with 16 kills, hit a season-best .737 percent at the net. She also proved to be a defensive thorn for the Hardrockers, leading the Grizzlies with a team-high four blocks. Meanwhile
Lindsey Stindt added to her successful junior campaign with 11 kills and 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Freshman
Katelyn Schwartz led the team with 34 assists.

For the match, ASU hit .298 while the Hardrockers hit a miniscule .055.

The Grizzlies will host Western New Mexico University next at 7 p.m. from Plachy Hall on Oct. 24th.
