ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 25, 2014) -Â The Adams State University Grizzlies women's volleyball team won their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchup against the visiting New Mexico Highlands University Mustangs by a match score of 3-1. With the win, Adams improves their overall record to 13-10, 7-7 in RMAC play. Highlands' record drops to 10-14, 5-9 in RMAC contests. ASU now moves into a three way tie for the final spot of the RMAC Tournament with only four remaining games left on the schedule.

Adams State won the game via match scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-20, and 25-10. NMHU did capture the first match victory; however Adams won the next three sets to take the match. After losing the first match, Head Coach Lindy Mortenson and her club roared back with a 7-1 run to begin the second set. The Grizzlies took that momentum moving forward and never looked back.

Lindsey Stindt,
Leah Nelson, and
Alex Parker all had a successful night on the court. Stindt led the team with 16 kills and a .250 efficiency rate, while Nelson and Parker each had 12 and 11 kills respectively. Parker led the team with six blocks for the evening. Katlyn Schwartz led the team with 46 assists while
Gabrielle Timmen led the Grizzlies with 24 digs.

The Grizzlies now travel to Pueblo, Colo. to face off against the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves on October 31. This game will prove to be a pivotal matchup as both teams remain in contention for the RMAC Tournament.Â
