PUEBLO, Colo. (November 1, 2014) —The Adams State University Grizzlies women's volleyball team lost a highly contested Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) match versus the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves in five sets on Friday. With last night's loss, the Grizzlies record falls to 13-11, 6-8 in RMAC contests. CSU-P improves to 15-11, 9-7 in RMAC play.
The match was pivotal for both teams, as a win would only strengthen either side's chance of capturing one of the final seeds in the RMAC Tournament. The Grizzlies lost via set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 30-32, 25-19, 15-3. The Grizzlies were unable to slow the play of CSU-P hitter Morgan Wilkening, who had a strong showing with 23 kills for the night. With the play of Wilkening, the ThunderWolves ultimately proved to be too much for Grizzlies. ASU did not go quietly as the teams put on a show in the third set that featured the Grizzlies come back from seven points on two occasions. CSU-P would get the final two points, however, for a 32-30 set win.
For the match,
Lindsey Stindt led the team offensively with 24 kills and a hitting efficiency of .167.
Leah Nelson and
Mallory Grimsrud contributed 16 and 14 kills, respectively.

The Grizzlies travel to Gunnison today to face off against the Western State Colorado University Mountaineers at 7 pm.
