GUNNISON, Colo. (November 1, 2014) —The Adams State University Grizzlies volleyball team won in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) contest vs the Western State Colorado University Mountaineers on Saturday night in the form of a 3-0 sweep. With the win the Grizzlies improve their record to 14-11, 8-8 in RMAC play. Western on the contrary remains winless and falls to 0-20, 0-16 in RMAC.
ASU won the match via set scores of 27-25, 25-17, and 25-19. The visiting Grizzlies produced a well-rounded victory to remain in contention for the RMAC Tournament. Offensively, the Grizzlies were led by outside hitter
Lindsey Stindt who had 10 kills-- her fifth straight game with 10 or more kills. The junior also tallied 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season.
Also adding to ASU's efforts were
Alex Parker and
Mallory Grimsrud with nine and seven kills, respectively. Grimsrud also had seven blocks and proved to be a menace on the attempted Mountaineer attacks.
Katelyn Schwartz had 28 assists as
Gabrielle Timmen contributed 11 digs.
Outside the first point scored in the second set of the game, the Grizzlies never trailed for the entirety of the match. Adams State will play host to Colorado Mesa University on Nov. 7
th and Fort Lewis College on Nov. 8
