Alamosa, Colo. (September 21, 2014) - The Adams State University women's volleyball team lost a heartbreaking game last night against the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners at home from Plachy Hall. ASU now moves to 7-4 on the season and 2-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play. Metro State moves to 9-2, 3-0 in RMAC with last night's win.
The Grizzlies lost via set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 12-15. Outside hitter
Lindsey Stindt led the Grizzlies with 18 kills, eight digs, three blocks, and one ace.
Nina Mody-Bailey also had a great performance for ASU capturing 13 kills. Freshman
Katelyn Schwartz led the team with 50 assists and her fellow classmate
Gabrielle Timmen led the team with 12 digs.
After winning the first set momentum was halted by late Metro rallies; the most significant of which coming in the third set. After a Mody-Bailey kill to tie the game at 17-17, Metro went on an 8-1 run to capture the set win.
The Grizzlies play next against Colorado Christian University on Sept. 25
th. That RMAC contest will tip off 7 p.m. Â in Lakewood, Colo.
