LAKEWOOD,
Colo. (September 25, 2014) -- The Adams State University women's volleyball team lost today against the Colorado Christian University Cougars by a match score of 3-2. ASU now moves to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) while CCU improves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the RMAC.
The Grizzlies lost via set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 26-24, 17-25, and 14-16. Outside hitter
Lindsey Stindt led the team with 17 kills, 20 digs, and two blocks.Â
Alex Parker had her strongest showing of the season by posting 12 kills and six blocks.
Freshman
Katelyn Schwartz led the team with 48 assists and has accumulated 131 assists over the past three matches (UCCS, Metro State, and CCU).
Gabrielle Timmen led the team with a season-high 23 digs. At the net, the Grizzlies recorded a total of 35 blocks and were led in that effort by
Mallory Grimsrud who finished with 11.
The Grizzlies continue their road trip, playing against the Regis University Rangers in Denver tomorrow night at 5:00 pm. Regis, who received votes in the latest Top 25 Poll, boast an 8-4 overall record and are 3-1 in RMAC play.
