DENVER (September 26, 2014) -- The Adams State University Women's Grizzlies volleyball team lost today against the Regis University Rangers by a match score of 3-0. ASU now has lost three consecutive games, moving their record to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play. Regis' record now stands at 9-4, 4-1 RMAC.
The Grizzlies were swept via set scores of 16-25, 19-25, 14-25. The Rangers benefitted from an 8-1 run midway through the first set and never looked back. For the match, redshirt freshman
Mallory Grimsrud led the team with eight kills at a .375 attacking percentage. The middle blocker also led the team with four blocks. Freshman
Katelyn Schwartz led the team with 24 assists while fellow classmate
Gabrielle Timmen led the Grizzlies with 13 digs.
The Rangers' Caitie Breaux led all players by hitting .435 at the net along with 11 kills and 14 digs. For the match, Regis hit .287 while the Grizzlies hit .064.
The Grizzlies play again tomorrow against RMAC opponent Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D. The contest will tip off at 3 p.m. from the Donald E. Young Center.
