SPEARFISH, S.D. (September 27, 2014) -- The Adams State University Grizzlies volleyball team lost today on the road against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) foe Black Hills State University by a match score of 3-1. Adams State now falls to 7-7 on the season, 2-4 in RMAC play. With the win, BHSU improves to 5-9, 3-3 RMAC. Adams State has now lost their past four matches.
Outside hitter Lindsey Stindt led the Grizzlies with 16 kills at a .351 attacking percentage. The junior also tallied 11 digs, two aces, and one block. Freshman Katelyn Schwartz led the Grizzlies with 39 assists. Schwartz also notched 3 aces throughout the game. Gabrielle Timmen led all players with 22 digs. It marked the freshman 20+ dig performance this season.
The Yellow Jackets hit .279 for the match including a .415 performance during the first set that included 19 kills and only two errors. Black Hills State had four players record 10+ kills led by Meghan Sipe with 16. Sipe also finished with nine digs, two blocks, and a service ace.
Adams State will play next against fellow RMAC member New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M. on October 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
