DURANGO, Colo. (October 13, 2015) Behind a collegiate-best 26 kills from Alex Parker the Adams State University volleyball team captured a 3-1 win against Fort Lewis College on Tuesday night.

Parker picked up the 26 kills off 53 attacks as the Grizzlies (4-13, 3-6 RMAC) won the match by set scores 25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Katelyn Schwartz added a game-high 49 assists as Mallory Grimsrud and Briannah Mariner joined Parker in double digit kills with 12 and 11, respectively.

Adams State limited the Skyhawks to hitting .057 percent at the net for the match. Leading the defensive efforts in the front row were Grimsrud and Kamryn Lewis who chipped in five blocks apiece. Savannah Smith added a game-high 16 digs as teammate Allie Miller finished with 14.

In defeat Fort Lewis (4-13, 1-8 RMAC) was paced by Matisse Monty with 10 kills and 15 digs.  

The win snaps a three match losing streak for the Grizzlies. It also marks the second conference road win in 2015.

Adams State returns home on Friday, Oct. 16 to host Westminster College (Utah) at 7:00 p.m. Live video and stats of the RMAC match will be provided through www.asugrizzlies.com
