ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 16, 2015) – The Adams State University Grizzlies volleyball team won tonight 3-2 in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) game on Friday night against the Westminster College Griffins. Behind the fabulous play of
Alex Parker--who provided another strong showing for the Grizzlies--now sit on a two game winning streak and improve their record to 5-13, 4-6 in RMAC play.
Parker picked up 19 kills off 54 attacks and the Grizzlies won the match by set scores 11-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-20, and 15-11. In her last two games, Parker has accumulated 45 kills. Both
Briannah Mariner and
Mallory Grimsrud joined in on double digit kills posting 13 and 12 kills, respectively. For Mariner, her 13 kills now serves as a collegiate-best.
The Grizzlies limited the Griffins to hitting .154 percent at the net for the match. In comparison the Grizzlies hit at a .250 hitting percent. Defensively the Grizzlies were led by Grimsrud who chipped in two total blocks. Mariner added a game-high 17 digs while
Savannah Smith chipped in 16.
In defeat the Griffins fall to 5-13, 2-8 in RMAC play on the season and were offensively led by Amara Culpepper who posted 18 kills from 48 attacks.
