Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 23, 2015)— On what was the chilliest day of the soccer season, the Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team hosted the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners, in which the Grizzlies were held scoreless as MSUD walked away with the 2-0 win.
Just one minute into the game, the Roadrunners fired off the first shot, but
Molly O'Connor was able to make the save.
Sloan Foster was awarded a corner kick that saw
Abbey Rasmussen step in to take the shot, but unfortunately her shot would be high.
The first period saw both teams evenly matched with each team tallying six shots. O'Connor made four saves, compared to MSUD's two.
Three minutes into the second, the Roadrunners drew the first blood with a goal by Elise Boisnard to go up one on Adams State.
Hope Cruz would try and tie the game up a shot, but MSUD goalkeeper, Breanna Flores made the save.
The Roadrunners would give themselves a two-goal lead off of a Josalyn Martin penalty kick.
The Grizzlies would try and avoid the shutout, with
Dezirae Armijo firing off a shot, but it would find the crossbar. MSUD would take two quick shots, and would end the game.
