ALAMOSA, Colo. (December 5, 2015) -- The Adams State University Grizzlies lost tonight in their match-up against the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks, falling 106-65.
In tonight's match-up, the Grizzlies (1-3, 0-1 RMAC) opened up conference play in the wrong direction Head Coach
Larry Joe Hunt was hoping for. Against the Skyhawks, ASU never held the lead and trailed by as many 41 points. Adams was not able to find a defensive answer to the duo of Michelle Tuner and Dallas Dickerson. Each player scored 14 points, respectively. The Skyhawks had six players score in double-digit margins.
Offensively for Adams they were led by a standpoint performance by
Johnette Brown. For the night, she scored 16 points off 4-8shooitng, 8-11 from the charity stripe in twenty-one minutes of play and proved to the Grizzlies most consistent offensive threat throughout the game.
Lena Jaycox, who continues to be in fantastic from, scored 12 points in tonight's affair.
Tonight's X-factor in the ballgame was the tactical utilization of Fort Lewis' bench. The Skyhawk bench erupted for 41 points compared to the Grizzly 26. Paired with 40 points in the paint and 32 points off turnovers, the Skyhawks put in one of their best performances of the season so far against the Green and White.
