GOODWELL, Okla. (February 22, 2015) – A four-run burst in the top of the ninth gave Adams State University a 6-5 lead but Oklahoma Panhandle State University notched two more runs in the bottom of the frame for a 7-6 win in Saturday's series finale.
The Grizzlies drop to 3-6 overall in defeat. Despite the loss, ASU took the series by way of their two wins against the Aggies on Friday.
Entering the top of the seventh, the Grizzlies remained off the scoreboard until
Chris Morley's two RBI single brought in
Quinn Tiernan and
Marco Garmendia. Morley went on to initiate the ninth inning rally as well. With one out and the bases loaded Morley connected for a RBI single down the right field line.
Tyler Thurston and
Dillon Bollig followed with back-to-back RBI singles to tie the game at 5-5. ASU grabbed the go-ahead run as Aggie pitcher Scott Cutright hit batter

In the bottom of the frame Oklahoma Panhandle picked up a RBI single to tie the game and scored the game-winning run after a Grizzly error. Both runs were scored with two outs.
Next for Adams State is a Feb. 24
