WSOC| Grizzlies blanked by ThunderWolves 2-0

Box Score PUEBLO,Colo. (September 20,2015)-- The Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team's undefeated streak was snapped today in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchup against the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves earlier today, as they were shut- out 2-0.

The ThunderWolves struck early with a goal just 1:20 into the first period. The Grizzlies' Shelby McBain would try to tie the game up, but her shot would end up wide- right of the net. Shortly after, CSU-P would score their second and final goal of the contest at the 44:2 mark of the first. This would take the game into halftime.

For the second, Teagan Moore would get the start in net for Adams State. Dezirae Armijo would get a corner kick to start things off, but wouldn't be able to capitalize as the shot that followed was saved. She would then have another opportunity to score after the ThunderWolves incurred a yellow-card, but again Armijo would be denied.

Kendall Weld would then take a shot to try and even the score, but her shot would end up high.

CSU-P would then be afforded another yellow-card, which would give Maggie Carrico a chance, but unfortunately her shot was blocked.

The Grizzlies would fight valiantly with Armijo and McBain attacking the net, but Adams State couldn't overcome a tough CSU-P defense. They would be held scoreless for the game.

Armijo would lead the Grizzlies with three shots that all landed on target, McBain would tally two shots,and Carrico would tally one.
