Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CANYON, TX. (September 5^th, 2015)— The second day of the BritKare Lady Buff Classic kicked off today with the Adams State University Grizzlies women's volleyball team squaring off against the host and number twenty-two ranked West Texas A&M University Patriots at 11:00 am. The Grizzlies were unable to fend off the Patriots as they fell in four sets 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, and 25-19.

Adams State was able to hold off the Patriots in the third set with a 25-23 victory. This set saw the Grizzlies get the first point of the set with a kill by Paitton Heltenberg from Maisy Munson.  The set saw a back and forth battle ensue between West Texas and Adams State, with the Grizzlies going up by five points at one point. Through out the set, the Grizzlies only relinquished the lead once, and went down by a point before regaining the lead with three consecutive points and eventually going on to win by two.

Leading the Grizzlies in this first game were Heltenberg with 14 kills, Hannah Atkinson with 12, Alex Parker with 10, and Malloy Grimsrud with nine.  

In the second set against Eastern New Mexico University, Adams State was unable to contain the Greyhounds as they dropped all three sets 25-14, 25-21, and 26-24.

The third set saw the Grizzlies fight valiantly against ENMU, with the Grizzlies taking a three point lead at some points. Savannah Smith created an opportunity for Adams State by earning a point off of an ENMU attack error to force the game to go to an extra point situation. Unfortunately the Greyhounds were able to capitalize off of errors from the Grizzlies to sneak away with the win.

Adams State will next play on September 11^th- 12^th when they go back on the road for the Steel and Silver Classic hosted by the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs. The first game will be against Washburn University at 11:30 am.  Fans can stay updated by visiting www.asugrizzlies.com
