ALAMOSA, Colo. (January 30, 2016)--Â Adams State University lost on Saturday evening against conference foe Regis University. The Rangers, who were winners of eight of their last nine games, added another convincing victory against the Grizzlies as Regis had three offensive players score in double-digit margins. The Rangers beat the Grizzlies by a 90-43 score.
Saturday's loss against Regis extends the Grizzlies conference losing streak to 11 straight games after the Rangers dropped a season-high 90 points on the Green and White
The Grizzlies (2-16, 1-14 RMAC) were paced offensively by
Cydney McHenry who scored nine points off of 3-10 shooting, 1-2 from beyond the three-point line, and a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe. McHenry also led the team in assists with two and collected five total rebounds in Saturday's affair against Regis. After a career-best 23 point performance on Friday from
Cardelia Allen, the freshman forward collected six points and two steals. Freshman
Madison Merschel led the team in rebounding with six- three a piece both offensively and defensively.
For the game Adams State shot 26.9 percent (14-52) from the field compared to Regis' 53.2 percent (33-62). The Grizzlies trailed by as many as 48 points in the game and scored a season-low seven points in the first quarter along with eight points scored in the third.
