CANYON, Texas—The Adams State University Softball team was unable to overcome some early leads on Friday as they dropped two games with identical scores of 4-1 to Cameron University and Texas Women's University. There will be four more games for the Grizzlies on the weekend including two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
On Friday, the Grizzlies saw Cameron score a single run in the bottom of the first and two in the bottom of the second before two scoreless inning saw
Gabrielle Griego hit her second homer of the season to left field for their lone run on the season.
Adams State was only able to tabulate three hits while giving up four runs on four hits.
Lauren Murphy was tabled with the loss and she is now 2-2 on the season.
In the second game, Texas Woman's University scored single runs in the bottom of the first, bottom of the third, bottom of the fourth and bottom of the sixth while Adams State only scored their lone run in the top of the sixth. Griego scored the only run for the Grizzlies as
Kelsi Kautz hit a single through the left side.
ASU had five hits and they were errorless on the game.
