Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

WLAX| Grizzlies falter in RMAC match up against ThunderWolves

PUEBLO, Colo. (March 12th, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's lacrosse team traveled to Pueblo to take on the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves for their first road trip of the season. Depsite having five different Grizzlies find the back of the net, Adams State was unable to hold off the ThunderWolves, as they fell 15-5.

CSUP drew the first blood of the contest, when at the 21:34 mark, the ThunderWolves took an early 1-0 lead. They would go on a two-goal unanswered run to up the lead to 3-0, before Cynthia Perez would put the Grizzlies on the board off of a free position shot.
Before the half, the ThunderWolves would add two more goals to bring the score to 5-1.

Two minutes into the second half, CSUP would add one more goal to give them selves a 6-1 lead over Adams State. Kendra Cheda would counteract that goal at the 25:31 mark, to cut the ThunderWolves' lead to 6-2. Just over a minute later, Jessica Hammer would cut the lead to half with her goal coming from the top of the circle.

CSUP would answer right back with two more goals of their own before Alleah Baltzer would find the net in her fourth straight game. Baltzer's goal would come off of a free position shot and would put the score at 8-4.

The ThunderWolves would go on a six-goal run before Cera Cyster would tack on the last goal for the Grizzlies. Cyster's goal came off of a woman-up opportunity, with 10:40 left to go.

CSUP's last goal would come at the 4:19 mark. With the loss, Adams State falls to 0-4 on the season.

Grizzly goaltender, Alyse Mims, faced fourteen shots out of CSUP's twenty-three, while making four saves on the day. Both teams tied for number of draw controls won, with each winning eleven.

Next up for the Grizzlies is a trip to Salt Lake City to take on Westminster College on March 26th. Game time is slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
