SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (March 26th, 2016)—Earlier Saturday, the Adams State University Grizzlies women's lacrosse team faced off against the Westminster College Griffins, in their second game of a three game road trip. The Grizzlies were unable to catch the Griffins, as they fell 19-4.
The first half of play got started quickly when Westminster went on an eight-goal unanswered run to go up 8-0 on Adams State before Kendall Baylor would get the Grizzlies on the board with her goal at the 14:45 mark of the first. Baylor's goal would come off of a free-position shot.
Two minutes later, Cera Cyster would cut the deficit to six goals when she found the back of the net with 11:27 left before half time.
However, the Griffins would get those two goals back to go up 10-2 over the Grizzlies heading into half time.
Two minutes into the second half of play, Westminster would add on another goal to make the score 11-2 before
Cynthia Perez would cut the deficit back to eight goals when she found the back of the Griffins' net at the 27:42 mark.
Westminster would go on a five-goal unanswered run to go up 16-3 over the Grizzlies, before
Samantha Hammer scored with 9:01 left in the contest to make the score 16-4.
The Griffins would then add on the final three goals of the game.
Grizzly goaltender
Alyse Mims would finish the day with fourteen saves. Out of Adams State's twelve shots, ten would be on target. With the loss, Adams State falls to 0-5 on the season.
The Grizzlies take to the field again on April 3
rd, when they travel to Regis University to take on the Rangers. Game time is set for a 1:00 pm start.
