Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

WLAX| Grizzlies on wrong side of lopsided loss to Rangers

DENVER, Colo. (April 3, 2016)—The Adams State University women's lacrosse team traveled to Denver to take on Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) rivals, the Regis University Rangers earlier on Sunday, but were unable to fend off a tough Rangers' offense, as they fell 20-4.

Regis got things rolling with the first goal coming just seconds into the opening half of play. The Rangers would then go on to score ten unanswered goals, to go up 10-0 over Adams State.

With 13:03 left in the first half, Kendra Cheda would break the run by netting her first goal of the game to cut Regis' lead to 10-1.

The Rangers would then get that goal, and add one more to make the score 12-1 before Adams States' Cynthia Perez would find the back of Regis' net to cut the lead back to ten goals.

Regis then added on three more goals to give themselves a 15-2 lead heading into halftime.

The Rangers would then open up the second half of play by scoring two more goals before Cera Cyster would shoot one past Regis' goalie at the 19:01 mark.

Regis then added three more goals on to their lead to go up 20-3 over the Grizzlies before Kendall Baylor would add her name to the list of Grizzly goal-scorers. Baylor's goal came off of a free-position shot. This would be the final goal of the contest.

Overall, Adams State goaltender, Alyse Mims, would face 27 shots from Regis. Mims would end the day with seven saves. The Grizzlies tallied 10 shots, with five being on the mark.

Up next for Adams State is an RMAC matchup in Grand Junction as they travel to Colorado Mesa University to take on the Mavericks. The game is set to begin at 4:00 pm.
