PORTALES, NM (September 7th, 2016) — The Adams State soccer team remained undefeated today, and have already surpassed last year's 2 win season with today's win over Eastern New Mexico by a score of 3-2. Furthermore, the program has already eclipsed last season's goal total just three matches into the 2016 campaign.
Both defenses fought to a scoreless halftime.
Symon Fabbricatore,
Bernard Tume, and
Bobby Carlton all scored goals in the second half. Despite a valiant second half effort by the Greyhounds, Adams was able to hold on for the victory.
Coach Bentley had this to say about the game: "We're pleased to get the result today against a very talented ENMU team. We knew we needed to execute our game plan really well today to be competitive and in many areas we were exceptional. This game is another step in the right direction for us but the season is still very young, and in many areas we need to get better. The big positive we take away from this trip is our depth. We are fortunate to be able to go to our bench as much as we can with no concerns over the level of play being effected. Our depth will be a strength for us moving forward.
The team returns home for their next contest against Lubbock Christian University on September 11
th at 3:30pm.
