VB| Ringler Has Career Night As Grizzlies Win Second Straight

Durango, Colorado. - The Adams State University volleyball team (9-11, 5-6 RMAC) have now won back to back games for the first time since the four game winning streak earlier this season. The Grizzlies won in five sets over Fort Lewis (7-11, 4-6 RMAC) tonight in Durango.

Tonight's contest was anything but dull. Neither team ever had the game in hand until the very end. Fort Lewis took the first set 25-20 highlighted by their 18-9 start. The Grizzlies got off to a slow start in the second set as well but fought out of it thanks to a 6-0 run. They would go on to win 25-18 heading into intermission. In the third, ASU took an early 7-1 lead. The Skyhawks would have none of it however as they came back with a 12-2 run on their way to a 25-23 win. Determination was on full display as the Grizzlies tied the game at 25 in the fourth. Down 30-31 and facing defeat, ASU scored the next three on two Fort Lewis attack errors and a Juliana Zamora kill. That determination carried over to the fifth where the Grizzlies took down the home team 15-9.

Mallory Grimsrud had a solid game with 21 kills and three total blocks. Rachel Ringler set a new career high for herself tonight with an unbelievable 56 assists. Julianna Zamora also came through with 10 kills and 22 digs. Fort Lewis was led by Maddie LeBlanc's 14 kills and seven total blocks.

The Grizzlies will host Westminster this Thursday at 7:00PM.
