ALAMOSA – Things looked well for Adams State University football team on homecoming day, then a 63-unanswered point run by No.16-ranked Colorado Mesa University put the game away.
Chad Hovasse was the bright light of the day for the Grizzlies, as he moved just three catches away from tying the school record in career receptions.

Following his single-game reception record performance, Hovasse continued to show why he is one of the greatest receivers in Adams State history. He secured a dozen catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns. He is now three catches shy of tying Tom Stevens for the career-record in catches. He also moved to fourth all-time in yards, and is six touchdowns shy of the touchdown reception record.

Additionally,
Tyree Harris rushed for a career-high 24 carries and 161 yards. He accounted for one touchdown.

Defensively,
Garrett Jackson had a dozen tackles, including 11 solo and a tackle for loss.
Michael Cirino also had a 51 yards interception return, keying Adams up for its first score of the game.

The ground game of the Mavericks was nearly unstoppable, as the team rushed for 475 yards on 51 carries. David Tann accounted for 173 yards on 18 carries and a pair of touchdowns, while Eystin Salum had 108 yards rushing on nine carries for a pair of touchdowns. He also threw for 212 yards on nine completions for two touchdowns and an interception.
