Alamosa, Colorado. - The Adams State University volleyball team (14-13, 10-8 RMAC) took on a two-win Western State (2-25, 1-17 RMAC) team tonight at home, but the contest was anything but easy. The Grizzlies would win 3-1 in the end despite a great effort from Western.

The Mountaineers shocked the crowd with a 25-21 first set win, only the 16
th set they've won all year. The second set went to the Grizzlies with ease 25-16 to enter the break. The third would be a worse beat-down with a Grizzly 25-12 win. Western gave a valiant effort to force a fifth set, but could not defeat a hungry Grizzly team in the fourth, losing 27-25.

Mallory Grimsrud and
Shannon Mulkey led the team with a combined 22 kills and nine total blocks.
Rachel Ringler put up 34 assists on the night. Hanna Hendrickson led Western with 45 assists and eight digs.
