Pueblo, Colorado - The Adams State University men's basketball team (0-4, 0-0 RMAC) could easily be the best winless team in the nation. They have already had to play the nation's 11
th ranked team once and 21
st ranked team twice. A missed free throw and four points is the only difference in the last two losses to ranked teams. This weekend fell short of victory as well however as the Grizzlies fell to No. 21 West Texas A&M 88-92 on Friday and Texas A&M Kingsville 73-75 on Saturday.
Â
Trailing by seven with only 19 seconds remaining in the game,
Brandon Sly nailed the game's next five points to cut it to two. The Buffs would hit a pair of free throws down the stretch to escape and keep its undefeated season intact.
Shane Johnson led the Grizzlies with 27 points, four assists, two steals, and a block. Frederick Jackson would record a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Buffs had a huge game from David Chavlovich with 40 points.
Â
On Saturday, the Grizzlies finally faced an unranked opponent but still fell just short. A Jarret Givens three pointer hit with only three seconds remaining in the game to bring it within one. In a similar fashion to the previous game, Texas A&M Kingsville would hit their free throws and would not even leave enough time to get off a game winning heave.
Brandon Sly had 19 on the evening as
Jarrett Givens added 17 and three steals. Trey Sumpter posted 17 for TAMK. Â Â Â Â

The team now travels to Hawaii for the next three games. The Grizzlies will face Cal State Dominguez Hills at Moanaula High School on black Friday at 5:45PM.
